I received an email update from Green Dimes today. I've included the highlights below, outlining how many trees and amount of water that have been saved, as well as a push for more subscribers. As an incentive they are planting more trees. I've been a member since November and have a definite decrease in the amount of junk mail and catalogs that I receive. All in all, seems like a very well run company and they are truly making a difference. More information is at www.greendimes.com.
1. We’ve stopped over 130,000 pounds of junk mail, planted nearly 75,000 trees (more on this later) saved over 340,000 gallons of water and processed more than 60,000 catalog cancel requests! Good stuff for 5 months!
2. We’re running three promotions between February 22nd and March 22nd in honor of Arbor Day.
3. For every member you refer to us, we’ll plant an extra 25 trees on your behalf
4. For every new member we’ll plant an extra 25 trees on their behalf.
5. For every new MySpace Friend we add, we’ll plant 10 trees. We’re at 110 right now.
