Sundays Energy Community Company is the brainchild of Kai Curry. Deeply interested in renewable energy and sustainable living practices, Kai wanted to do something tangible with his knowledge. He participated in the beginnings of a sustainable community when he helped build a couple off-the-grid cabins. The next project was a 1976 Mercedes 240D that he converted to run on vegetable-oil. After adapting a school bus to demonstrate Straight Vegetable Oil (SVO) use, biodesel creation was the natural progression. At this point Kai expanded biodiesel production to his garage. Soon Kai found that commercial biodiesel needed to be purchased in bulk to supply the growing demand in the area. In 2004 he founded the Twin Cities Biodiesel Cooperative. As time progressed and the direction of the company expanded nationally, Biodiesel Blue Distribution was created. Yearning for more, he created Sundays Energy.
Kai is Minnesota-born and currently residing in the Kingfield neighborhood of Minneapolis. He has experience in biodiesel, SVO-WVO, photo voltaic, solar hot water, radiant floors, building efficiency, web development, apple computers, real estate, marketing, print design, video editing, photography, music creation, baking/cooking, health and wellness. Kai also enjoys cycling, running and kayaking.
